Not Lost, But Still Not Found

It’s been bad recently, or is it that I’ve been bad? The promising weather is keeping me from updating too often. After updating has been done, almost last minute nowadays, stepping away from the laptop is the anticipated next move. The other day Alexis, improv peer and yoga teacher and life strategist, brought me to a nook of Skaneateles that unbeknownst to me: Charlie Major Nature Trail. We had a nice walk, sitting by one of the waterfalls, wading in the water, wading in the freezing Skaneateles water, and throwing off our equilibrium on the swing set.

It’s the home stretch of her Mindful Month, and she’s continuing to post a couple times a day; I’m just a few days behind schedule. However, I’m going to keep the practice going. It’s only necessary; good things, feeling should be cherished and continued. After a lunch date yesterday, it’s good to hear other meditation fans having an uphill battle with fitting in time with deep breathing as many of us are.

Came across this plaque on the Charlie Major Nature Trail. It seemed only fitting to take a picture of, to share.

So, I’ve been disregarding and ignoring The Abyss in the sense that better things have to be done. This has nothing to do with indolence, but these better things that have to be done are enjoy life. There is much enjoyment that technology gives us all, but Mother Nature is just as appealing. I’m going to keep following, sometimes giving the rope some slack now-and-then. It’s a nice day out, and you all should enjoy yourselves on the WordPress pontoon boat.

With Maya Angelou’s passing yesterday, my practically last-minute update for The Inevitable Coffee Ring‘s Thursday segment, The Esspresso Shot, was semi-inspired by her. E. E. Cummings is quoted, and the collection of poetry I bought weeks ago is the focus of the piece, but Angelou’s passion and her philosophy was considered greatly. She exuded creativity and passion, and only wished for everyone to do the same, and that is to simply say the least.

This will end here, because you have your two links below leading to the this week’s two Syracuse New Times pieces.

The first is a rant, and it’s my taking a step back from my living in Syracuse to living in the United States.

The Espresso Shot piece is lethargically creative Non-fiction, and it was purposely written strange. It teeters quasi-tip-of-the-iceberg-David-Lynch-first-thought-before-creating-Twin-Peaks strange. No, I am not comparing myself to Lynch. There is an abrupt ending, open-ended, which is purposeful.

For Tuesday’s installment of The Inevitable Coffee Ring, which was never posted (oops, but not oops): Memorial Day Rant

For today’s The Espresso Shot: The Espresso Shot (#005)

  1. Life should always come first. I think many of us are feeling that way these days and I know you and I have spoken of balance before. Hope all is well in your world.

    • Heeeeeey, Deanna –

Things have taken an interesting turn. Sometimes for the better, but sometimes is like my brain is oozing out of my ears … metaphorically. I probably wouldn’t be replying from a doctor’s office with such a concern. Hope all is well in lovely Germany.

  2. I’ve been thinking about doing a post about meditation, but I don’t know how to do it without sounding crazy. Or too preachy. I cant sleep without meditation. It is the only thing that relaxes me.

  3. The personal blog must be bypassed for real life. Rules No. 1 to 100.

Good man. Good SNT installments this week. Those professional blog roll-outs are stronger when you stick to Rules 1 to 100, too, I think.

  4. I was just wondering how it’s going on your end, pal. Glad to hear that you are busy enjoying life with a companion on the open road stumbling upon Walt Whitman while practicing mindfulness. A perfect picture! Checking out the links next.

  5. Hey man, great post. I finally got this going. Posted a couple of things tonight to play around and get used to it. Still kind of confused but I’ll figure it out as I go. Check out “The Daily Demon”. Looking forward to seeing where this goes. Thanks for the help.
